The book was good but actually I had picked up a copy of the same info from the local VA hospital for no cost.

There is not a veteran (or dependent of a veteran) that will not benefit from reading this book. I am Vietnam Era veteran, and upon reading this book I discovered entitlements that I had that I had did not know about. The book covers every benefit. Especially useful to me were the sections on health care, burial allowances and VA Home a loans. I didn't know I could live in the South Pacific and buy a house with a VA home loan. Nice Idea. Budahn's writing style is straight forward, he cuts through the Bureaucratic babble that normally accompanies government legalize. His words ring true: "Change is certain for VA programs. Make sure you have the latest information. Get this book. Highly recommended.

When my son was thinking about enlisting, this book was very helpful in letting him understand the benefits that go with being a veteran. Later, when my father was in declining health, we turned to this book again for a summary of the VA benefits available to him as a World War II veteran. It was very helpful, with explanations in simple English and a focus on the interests of people.
