A coming-of-age novel with a difference

A wonderful story of how vulnerable a young dragon becomes when she wanders away from the family cave and gets transformed into a human girl. She ends up in a town where there's the full range of human foibles, people who mistreat her and others who help her. Beautiful world-building and descriptions of her chocolate apprenticeship and her relationships with her new friends. And there's adventure too, when the Royal family and her dragon family get involved in the story.
