She's stuck with Jack... Lorraine Dancy has just discovered that everything she believes about her father is a lie--starting with the fact that Thomas supposedly died years ago. Now she's learned that not only is he not dead, he's living in a small town south of the border. In the process of tracking him down, she manages to get framed for theft and pursued by the real thief, the police and a local crime boss. Her father's friend Jack Keller agrees to help her escape, although Lorraine's reluctant to depend on a man like him. And he's stuck with her Jack's every bit the renegade Lorraine thinks he is--an ex-mercenary and former Deliverance Company operative. He's also the one person who can guide her to safety. But there are stormy waters ahead, including an attraction neither of them wants to feel. An attraction that's as risky as it is intense--for both of them. The sooner he can get Lorraine home, the better
Although not normally a romance reader, I picked up "Moon Over Water" while vacationing in an effort to cleanse my brain of the noxious after-effects of the "beach book" I had just finished (which was "Summer Sisters" -- absolute trash!) And this book did the job; this generous-hearted novel is responsible for restoring my usual upbeat view of the world and people. Even though much of the action is propelled by a series of lies and deceptions, the main characters and their friends and family are people whose behavior is governed by considerations of honor, decency, and obligation. They are people who, although likeable to start with, gain depth of principle as a result of having loved. This is refreshing and fun reading, and leaves one with the comfortable feeling of having passed the day with good people.
Romance with real people!

I love Debbie Macomber and this book proves she just keeps getting better. In the characters of Jack Keller and Raine Dancy we get to see two people who have real lives and normal human fears. The subplot of the aftereffects of the Vietnam War is excellent. Many of us have friends or relatives who are still living with that nightmare. Ms. Macomber handles the moral dilemmas of that time with sensitivity and understanding. Both Jack and Raine learn to appreciate the gift of love on any level and become able to share it with others. There is plenty of action and adventure as well as lots of romance. Those looking for steamy sex will be disappointed. In my opinion this is a welcome change of pace from traditional romance/suspense novels. Enjoy the book. I'm sure you will become drawn into the lives of the characters by the end of the first chapter!

If You Loved Romancing The Stone, You'll Love This!!!!

Moon Over Water is a hysterical, deeply romantic combination of Romancing The Stone and African Queen. I found myself wanting to laugh, cry, and fall in love all at the same time. The true tender love that is shared between Lorraine and Jack, makes your heart melt, and leaves the reader yearning to go searching for a man just like Jack Keller. The storyline had everything; adventure, suspense, emotional insights, doubt and tender love. I read this book in one sitting and found myself so engrossed in the story and characters, that I was actually found myself commenting on the characters actions aloud (and attracting much attention, may I add).I loved the novel and would highly recommend this novel to any one...romance reader or not. And if you weren't a romance reader before, you will be after reading this outstanding novel!
