Book Overview

A wealthy noblewoman. A desperate knight. A dangerous secret that threatens their love ... and their lives. If you're looking for a good, clean read that combines the setting and mood of a medieval fairytale with the heat of historical romance--you found it

Lady Sabine is harboring a skin blemish that, if revealed, could cause her to be branded as a witch, put her life in danger, and damage her chances of making a good marriage. No nobleman would want to marry a woman so flawed ... and a possible witch at that.

Sir Bennet is returning home to protect his family from an imminent attack by neighboring lords who seek repayment of debts. Without fortune or means to pay those debts, Sir Bennet realizes his only option is to make a marriage match with a wealthy noblewoman. As a man of honor, he loathes the idea of courting a woman for her money, but with time running out for his family's safety, what other choice does he have?

As Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet are thrust together under dangerous circumstances, will they both be able to learn to trust each other enough to share their deepest secrets? Or will those secrets ultimately lead to their demise?

True beauty is from within...

This book held a few twists and turns for me. I really liked Sabine; She was a wonderful young lady. It was awful that because of a blemish she was branded. I believe the story eventually showed that true beauty is from within. I am glad Sir Bennett realized this.

Lady Sabine has a skin blemish, and because of that wears gloves all the time. If the blemish is seen she could be fatal for her. Marks that like make people believe you are a witch. So she's lived her whole life practically alone. Now she's met Sir Bennet and they began falling for each other. But can he convince her to marry him before his castle is attacked? Sir Bennet's family is in deep debt, one he can not pay off. He needs Sabine's dowry to pay it off. But in the process of winning her heart, he also realizes... she now holds his. I enjoyed this book so much more then the others in this series. Sabine didn't have self confidence, she wasn't prideful, she felt more real then the other characters. Bennet also felt more real, as if aware he could be beat. But they way he treated Sabine sometimes bothered me. As if because she wasn't blond and beautiful she wasn't as wonderful as the other girls. But in the end he loved her, because of it. Because she beautiful and unique in her own way. This was a nice, short and sweet read.
