When a high school student's body is found and her boyfriend goes missing, tough-as-nails former sheriff Cork O'Connor is forced into the center of an eerie mystery with a shocking twist in this "vivid and realistic" (Booklist), Anthony Award-winning novel from New York Times bestselling author William Kent Krueger. When the body of a beautiful high school student is discovered on a hillside four months after her disappearance on New Year's Eve, all evidence points to her boyfriend, local bad boy Solemn Winter Moon. Despite Solemn's self-incriminating decision to go into hiding, Cork O'Connor isn't about to hang the crime on a kid he's convinced is innocent. In an uphill battle to clear Solemn's name, Cork encounters no shortage of adversity. Some--like bigotry and bureaucracy--he knows all too well. What Cork isn't prepared for is the emergence of a long-held resentment from his own childhood. And when Solemn reappears, claiming to have seen a vision of Jesus Christ in Blood Hollow, the mystery becomes thornier than Cork could ever have anticipated. And that's when the miracles start happening.
Blood Hollow is a fast paced mystery that you don't want to put down. Its long enough to have a lot of twists and turns, but not so long as to make it your lifes work! Kruegers "Cork O'Connor" stories give you a good dose of mystery, some geographical information, and some Native American mystique to give you the feeling that perhaps you've learned something, while entertaining yourself.

It is so nice to visit lovable, if flawed Cork O'coonor again. The changes in his character add realism to him. This book captures the qualities of a small town and the people who live there. Cork, again, strives to stay true to his ideals, although not always in the most conventional ways. Krueger haas done it again!

Excellent story, well written and totally entertaining. Many, many twists and turns. A young girl is found murdered and all evidence and suspicion points to her former boyfriend with a criminal past. Cork is not convinced that he is the murderer and delves deep into the investigation uncovering lots of hidden secrets and hidden identities. WIll keep you guessing from first page to last. A must read. Next to Boundary Waters, Krueger's best yet!!
EXCELLENT!

I am such a fan of Krueger's writing. His characters are well developed and interesting. His sense of place is excellent; when he describes a blizzard, you're reaching for a blanket even if it's 80 outside. And his plots have wonderful twists and turns along the way that I never see coming. I think this is a much under-recognized whose books, to me, rank right there with Connolly, Connelly, Lehane and Rankin. The series doesn't have to be read in order, but I'd recommend it. And don't forget his standalone.
